Ideas/feature requests

Hi there! Love your app, I find myself non-stop using it and making new mixes. That said, I have a few ideas on how to even further improve the experience.

1. Make it more social. It should be easier to find likeminded people and mixes in the genres you like. Also a search function on artist or hashtags would be nice. Rooms where people can post mixes of a certain mood or genre could help.
2. Make it possible to trim a complete track. Being able to exactly determine where a track begins and ends would improve the quality of mixes, and increase the options for mixers
3. Have Pacemaker indicate the BPM of a track. Seeing the BPM would make it much easier to find that perfect match.
4. Align the experience between iPad and iPhone. Right now I can't even find where to login to my pacemaker account on the iPad version? It shouldn't be that complicated for users.
5. Sonos compatibility. Right now I have up plug my phone in via a jack. Really annoying that I can't listen to my mixes without leaving my phone at a certain spot.
6. Allow Spotify users to download mixes consisting of tracks from Spotify only for offline use.

Other than that, keep up the good work! Thanks for listening.

Thanks for the suggestions! I've tried to answer these below:

1. You can search already! On iPhone, in the default feed which is first shown, pull down from the top of the screen. You can search for artists, hashtags and hashtags in titles are clickable. Try this out!
2. You can trim already! Check out this video here which shows how this is possible:
3. Right now we don't show BPM information, but rather show the tracks 'compatability' using a little wheel next to each song. This wheel includes, BPM, Key and Genre information. The more full the wheel, the better the track matches in your mix.
4. We don't support the social experience on iPad right now. Stay tuned for news here.
5. This is something lots of people are asking about and we're certainly looking to see if this is possible.
6. This feature is currently exclusive to Spotify. We'd love to add it ourselves but until Spotify change the rules around this, we can't do anything.

Thanks for using Pacemaker! Let me know if you have any questions about the above answers.

I think this app is super cool. I feel like it would do better if it open its platform beyond the spotify streamers. There are many people who use apple music that are just limited by not being able to connect their library to pacemaker. I hope in the future to see pacemaker give a great experience to all who want use the service regardless of a persons music streaming service preference.

Hey Sebastian,

We'd love to add other sources of music other than Spotify. Right now Apple Music support isn't possible but we hope that in the future Apple might be able to support DJ style applications.

Is there a timeline for Apple Music subscribers? Or is that not in the books. I’m just curious cause I want to use this app but I use Apple Music so it just sits unused and I check every once in a while to see if it works. Any timeline? Appreciate it.

Hey Ethan,
Unfortunately we don't have any news about possible changes Apple might make to Apple Music for developers. As mentioned before, we'd LOVE it if this was possible. Until something changes though, we can't add support as Apple do not currently have support for DJ style applications.
