„Party don’t stop“ Mode

Alex Leist Dec 29, 2018 10:18AM CET

Would it be possible to add a new option for your mixes to keep adding similar songs (or songs featured in the selected playlist) to the mix? I believe that would make Pacemaker much more appealing for house party’s for example, where someone just starts a mix and leaves the phone in the corner to play music. Then you wouldn’t have to worry to check up on your mix to see if there are enough songs left in queue.
Also, Spotify already has that feature where when you reach the end of a playlist it keeps playing similar songs. Maybe that can somehow be used to achieve this?

Anyway, keep up the good job guys! Pacemaker, your Team and the Community are amazing!

Thanks for the suggestion Alex.

We actually have this feature on iPad already in Autopilot where we enter such a "radio" mode and select new songs for you once your playlist has reached the end. To make it obvious that your list of music has ended, there is a gap between your list finishing, and the first track we automatically select from the "radio".

You can open Autopilot by loading a song onto a deck on iPad and then clicking on the ^ icon found in the centre of the two decks and then the Autopilot icon. Just add a song to the queue and wait until the playmarker reaches the end and you'll see this feature in action.

On iPhone - if you're listening to a mix in consumption mode, we fetch a new mix once your first one has ended.

Alex Leist Apr 04, 2019 07:40PM CEST, that's a late reply on my part if I ever saw one... sorry^^

I've been trying that feature you've been talking about on my iPad for quite some time now and I've gotta say: that's exactly what I meant. Only problem is: I mostly use Pacemaker on my iPhone, simply because my iPad Pro 12'' is just sliiiiiiightly to big to carry around everywhere :P
So maybe you could add an option to add this radio mode?

I mean, I get that the whole point of the community system is that you listen to other peoples mixes and find new stuff as you go. But I usually listen to my own few playlists by selecting one from Spotify and they don't switch to the next mix in line - because there is no next mix!
Maybe this would be the perfect place to add the "Radio Mode". That way you still have the community aspect.

I hope someones still reading this thread...

As always, keep up the great work!
